Release notes: EMT v3.1 has arrived!
In our latest product release, we are making the upcoming version of the European MIFID Template available to our EMT clients.
Kneip is EMT v3.1 ready
On the 12th of February 2021, FinDatEx validated the version 3.1 of the European MiFID Template (EMT) as an interim template to ensure compliance under MiFID II. EMT v3.1 is a temporary template: it will go live on the 10th of March 2021 and will exist alongside EMT v3.0. The changes in version 3.1 have been introduced to allow the reporting on product classification under the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), as well as to support country specific changes for distribution in Germany and France.

With this latest product upgrade, you can now produce, manage and disseminate EMTs in version 3.1 with Kneip, alongside with the versions 1.0 and 3.0. What are the changes in EMT 3.1?
This new version introduces a an update to the existing ESG field, a new section for distribution in Germany and a new section for distribution in France.
- Data fields 56 (05105): part of the client objectives and needs in the general Target Market section;
- Data fields and 95-98 (09000, 09010, 09020, 09030): for distribution in Germany distribution;
- Data field 10020: for distribution in France.
Does EMT v3.1 replace EMT v3.0?
No. EMT v3.0 and EMT v3.1 cannot be merged and will coexist from the 10th of March 2021 until FinDatEx produces a new version of the EMT. Note that there is currently no deactivation planned for version 1.0.
Are vendors ready to accept EMT v3.1?
With Kneip, version 3.1 is available for any vendor that is ready to receive it. Our Partnership Management team is working closely with all our media partners to understand their readiness with the different versions of the EMT.
