DCPT Success Story – Rathbones

From transaction cost calculation to DCPT production “is nothing short of spectacular!”

Rathbones, a leading UK Asset Manager, uses KNEIP for PRIIPs and Mifid compliance, including the transaction cost calculation solution. As the demand for Asset Managers to provide the DCPT has increased, Rathbones was confronted with this additional reporting and calculation requirement. Through the integrated KNEIP calculation engine Rathbones has been able to produce a DCPT with virtually no integration cost or effort.

Francesca Cherubini Stoughton, a consultant at Rathbones, leading the PRIIPs and Mifid II project, has been deeply involved in the transaction cost calculation. After finishing the first Rathbones DCPT roll out Francesca commented “… in less than five minutes, we were set up for the product and had calculated, validated and published a DCPT for one of our funds. To be able to do this so quickly is nothing short of spectacular!”

The latest extension of the calculation engine enables KNEIP clients to produce the UK DC workplace pensions template (DCPT). The necessary mappings and calculations and output required by this template are already pre-configured, enabling KNEIP clients to select the service with no additional time and cost of integration.

KNEIP considers this client experience to be the future of data management and reporting solutions.

KNEIP’s new digital platform and data architecture enables Asset Managers to leverage their data for any type of calculation, output, and publication. This reduces cost and complexity and increases the overall data consistency and quality, while maintaining regulatory compliance for the future.
A growing number of more than 75 clients trust KNEIP and its PRIIPs and Mifid II products to produce and disseminate the PRIIPs KID, EPT/CEPT and EMT.

The calculation of transaction cost, especially via the arrival price method, is probably considered as the most complex and uncertain of regulatory requirements.

KNEIP’s calculation engine does not just calculate a compliant transaction cost, but enables the manager to monitor exceptions and analyse the individual results at transaction level, while sourcing the market data and performing the calculation automatically.

Furthermore, by integrating the calculation engine into its’ reporting services, KNEIP enables the manager to validate and publish the results, automatically populating, followed by the release of revised KIDs, EPTs and EMTs, through a client configured dissemination application.
